A little about me.
I was born and raised in Orlando Florida til my father bought a dairy farm in Ohio (where his family is from) then lived there til I joined the Marine Corps. I completed 21 plus years and been in 30 different countries and some multiple times. You know the saying "I've been around and seen a lot"? Yep that would be me. During my early years in the Marines I got heavy into engine modding anything Chevy, graduating into bigblocks then moved on to Fords and Pontiac big blocks. My 74 Ford LTD and its heavily modded 460 could bring its wheels off the ground...mostly in public. Then my 77 Trans AM got its share of heavy artilary and finally got caught during rush hour traffic doing 135 in a 35 zone...got outta that one...I once got pulled over in my 78 Z28 Camaro on the Jersey Turn Pike at 2am...in the rain...with the cruise control set on 140. Got out of that one too. I remember Heading out the Camp Lejeune gate towards swansboro in which is about 17 miles, and my friend with his 78 Firebird and I would make it in about 8 to 10 minutes...our average speed was anywhere between 120 and 150mph. Stupid? Yep! I spent just shy of 16 years on Okinawa Japan...why? The cars! Almost all the cool cars were Turbo. I was also on an "underground" Motorcycle grand prix team. All the car and motorcycle racing was on mountain roads (called Touge) and was done only at nite. Why? so you could see head lights of oncoming traffic. It would be suicide during the day (as if illegal street racing wasn't suicide in itself). With my 1990 european model GSXR1100, after some decent modifications, it was no problem reaching the magic 200mph mark..plus some. With all the close calls I had in my life I shouldn't be here today. Why am I telling you all this and I'm supposed to be the president of an "Anti Street Racing" organization? First off, who better to make a statement about street racing, someone who's "been there and done that" and most of all I realize how stupid and how lucky I was to survive all my close calls, not to mention all the possible people's live my friends and I put in danger. I'm a retired Marine with a lot of regrets on my actions and how I put peoples lives in danger on public highways. Its my turn to give back what I took and devote my life in educating our young drivers on the dangers of Illegal street racing, speeding, driving while impaired and everyones favorite...Road Rage! If you may be interested in my life on Okinawa with the different cars and motorcycles I've owned, just click on the link...and your there.
