How we started
I have thought about this for over 20 years. It all started when my friend and I joined the Marine Corps and went to boot camp together. After 14 weeks of pure hell we graduated and went home for 30 days of vacation. Only after one week my friend, while walking home from a friends house down the street was struck and killed by a car street racing. Over the course of my 20 year career, I lost friends and troops to drunk driving, not wearing their seat belts and "Road Rage". Last year (early 2006) I lost a dear friend to an Illegal Street Race. So for the past year and a half I have been researching and planning the launch of "Florida Against Street Racing". link to more info

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE AND WHAT OUR AIM IS: link to more info

Specifically, this Nonprofit Corporation is organized and operated to promote and encourage road safety for the benifit of all community members by preventing and discouraging street racing on Florida streets, and provide invaluable education to the public on the detrimental effects associated with street racing, and the advantages of keeping our roads safe for the benifit and safety of all community members.

Florida Against Street Racing, inc. is a Nonprfit Corporation that is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the means of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as a tax-exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

We all at FLAGSTRA have the same thing in common. We love all forms of racing...only we promote to keep it safe and on a track. Racing in a controlled environment will give you the peace of mind that no one will pull out in front of you from a side road while you're reaching a top speed of 150 mph. Believe me, you need no worries or distractions while driving at light speed...lol

Our other goal besides "education" is to build a string of "Practice" drift and "light to light" tracks in all our major cities and concentrating on the areas of concern where Illegal Street Racing is at its worst. We want to give our particularly young drivers a place to "take it" as an alternative to racing on our public roads.
